Ahmed El-Sakka's second star outing, in the new film Africano, is expected to seal the young actor's status as Egypt's #1 action heart-throb. At yesterday's star-studded premier, the audience was treated to a new kind of Egyptian film: one which takes place almost entirely in the lush savannas of South Africa.
The breath-taking vista accompanied a contrived, yet somehow convincing, storyline involving a young veterinarian (El-Sakka) who goes to South Africa to look after his deceased uncle's wild game park. Interesting, to be sure, and thanks to the fast-paced action, fresh young faces, and exotic locations, sure to be a monster hit.
