Find out how the world media sees Egypt...

PEACE PROCESS
Egypt also trying to arrange Syria Israel rapprochement

Analyzing the summit
First, the big news -- Egypt's ambassador to
Israel to return in a week to ten days...

Here's a photo of the famous Sharon-Abbas handshake at Sharm El-Sheikh, and another of protestors at Cairo University.

CNN provides the transcripts of the
speeches by
Mahmoud Abbas and Ariel Sharon.

Hope and doubt color CBS's post summit story, and the Telegraph does the typical sun, sand and summit Sharm piece.

The New York Times, meanwhile, does an interesting analysis of the muted media reaction to the summit...

All eyes on Sharm
Cease-fire declared as summit begins. Reuters sums up the scene.

Haaretz's analysis admires Egypt's stepping up to the table. In lead up to the summit, Rice says Israel has hard decisions to make. Was Rice pushing the whole process in the lead up?

CNN goes for a personalized and cheesy "hoping against hope" approach. Is the summit set to activate the Syrian track as well? Plus, a quick news agency style look at the issues on the table.
