Kordahi overexposed?
Veteran Al-Ahram
arts columnist Amal Bekir says Lebanese TV presenter George
Kordahi, host of the popular game show "Who wants to be a
millionaire's" Arabic version, "Man sa yarbah
al-million?", definitely sports the look and method of a successful
game show host.
Bekir is highly
critical, however, of all the attention Kordahi has been receiving
recently.
The art critic says
it's yet another example of the media and the public "burning
up" their stars.
"Why the exaggeration
in everything and this sort of unnecessary fuss," Bekir simply
notes.
Kordahi has
certainly been a media darling, and has also been plucked by advertisers
to hawk their products for massive sums.
Similar sorts of
overexposure have negatively affected other stars in recent years, among
them, it might be argued, Mohamed Heneidi and Shaaban
Abdel-Rehim.
Do
you think Kordahi will survive the hype? Let

UPDATE:
Millionaire just flash in the pan?
Will the Arabic version of "Who wants to be a
millionaire" end up like it's US counterpart? This Variety
article says that after reaching peaks of popularity, "the
quizzer eventually wore out its welcome, particularly among young
viewers..." and has now been moved to a terrible time slot.
