DOMESTIC POLITICS
Ayman Nour is finally released -- albeit it on LE10,000 bail.
The investigation into the alleged forging of Ghad party memberships is ongoing...
Earlier, the Washington Post ran this longish, interesting feature on Nour.
Meanwhile, the Ghad party's newspaper finally appears on the newsstands. Its first front page features party chairman Nour's presidential candidacy announcement. Initially, it was reported that the first issue of Al-Ghad had been stopped before distribution...

BBC looks at his potential chances plus Nour himself makes an appearance via a jailhouse letter to Newsweek entitled "Did I take democracy too seriously?"

Earlier, AP's new, longish feature on the jailed politician got wide play....

SPORTS
Mido back on track -- set to play for Egypt against Libya.
Earlier,
Mido was called a Shoe Bomber by racist UK fans... Here's BBC's more sanitized version of the story.
Even earlier,
Egypt left Mido and other European-based players out of the squad for a friendly against Saudi Arabia in Dammam.

Plus, the US and Egypt end up in the same under 20 Youth soccer championship group.

ECONOMY
There's powerful backing for Egypt's bid to get a free trade agreement with the US from a Washington group...
Meanwhile, the Arabic press is following Industry Minister Rashid's Washington trip very closely on zahma.com
. Meanwhile, "Egypt's central bank said that net foreign reserves rose to $17.32 billion at the end of February, reaching their highest level since 1999..."

REGION
Israeli Defense Minister Mofaz was in Cairo to discuss security and political issues...

Plus, in a separate meeting on Syria, the UN's Terje Roed-Larsen sees 'eye to eye' with Mubarak, says the Daily Star.
