Nile view
December is the perfect time to head for Aswan. While Cairo gets colder with the approach of the new year, Aswan, one of Egypt's southernmost cities, bursts with color and clear skies. The photo above is from the Botanical Gardens, located on an island in the middle of the Nile. The Gardens feature hundreds of species of rare flowers and plants, and are only accessible by boat, as are many of the city's attractions.
