Feasting after fasting
The three day Eid El-Fitr celebrations that end a month of fasting usually start with sunrise prayers, visits to family and friends, and general relaxation. The traffic is smooth, as it must have been in Cairo back in the forties, and a lot of people have gone out of town, lessening the city's daily crunch.
