Even the American University in Cairo is offering major discounts on its books at the 33rd Cairo International Book Fair.

Good samaritans donate blood at the Book Fair.

The food court, strangely enough written in English, was a compromise devised by the fair's organizers in order to satisfy both the food and beverage vendors who wanted to make money at the fair, and publishers who felt the fair was turning more into a village souk. All vendors were placed in this food court. After all, people do end up spending most of the day at the fair, and eventually need a place to eat.
