To peg or not to peg


After last week's announcement that the government would allow the pound to float more freely relative to the dollar, the exchange rate went on a rapid uphill climb to over LE4 per dollar. Opposition paper Al-Wafd headlined its front page yesterday with the news that the government now plans on pegging the dollar rate at LE3.95 for selling and LE3.99 for buying.
